Yes, the BrainCONNECT MS Office Add-In has to be installed on the client PC. The download and configuration of the Add-In is done within BrainCONNECT. Is just a few clicks and should take less than 5 minutes (depending on the download speed for the 2MB msi file).

BrainCONNECT supports the SSL protocol (except for inhouse installation running on XP) as well as authentication by USB stick, based on SAML Web Authentication Request, as implemented for example in the SuisseID (page in German - however, the attached specs are in English)

There is a CSV importer available, which allows you to import data from comma (or semicolon) separated text files, e.g. saved from Excel in CSV format.
